Final Task

I had a great time creating this opening sequence. It was definitely a very important experience and I hope to do it again soon!

What Was Changed From the Film Review

Image
The reviews and critiques I had received from my classmates were an immense help. I applied all their critiques and suggestions toward my opening sequence. The switching around certain clips around and making the introduction to the opening sequence more concise was truly a great help. Being the only person in my group made applying these critiques and suggestions much easier. I did not have to talk to anyone else or have a group vote to ensure that everyone agreed on the changes. This was a great relief, as I saw many others struggling to be on the same page as the rest of their group. I, on the other hand, was able to apply these changes immediately. Thankfully, the critiques and changes they suggested were all within the editing realm. This meant that I did not need to go back and refilm any clips, which was amazing to hear. This also meant that making the actual changes became much easier because everything is on iMovie. I quickly made the changes and had both classmates watch the

Film Review

For the film review, I had two people review my opening sequence. I had two classmates review the opening sequence. I choose to have these two classmates specifically review my opening sequence for a few reasons. These classmates and I do not know each other very well and they are both in a higher grade level than me. I did this to ensure there is little to no bias toward me and my work. I also did this to ensure there will be an honest critique. I showed them both the video separately and asked that they give their opinion, along with any changes they deemed necessary. The two classmates both enjoyed watching my opening sequence. They both said that it was well put together and that it made perfect sense. A critique I got from one of the classmates was to make the beginning of the opening sequence more concise. This was so that viewers would be able to better understand what the main character was trying to say. She was specifically referencing the voiceover, which I completely agreed

And… I am Officially Done!

I decided to try to finish editing as soon as possible. I decided on this for a few reasons. One of those reasons being that I wanted to have people review my opening sequence early on. This was in case there were any changes suggested or any critiques. This would ensure that I would have more than enough time to make those changes or tweak a few details based on potential critiques. Other than that concern, I took this day to finalize the film before I presented it to others. I made any adjustments I deemed necessary to certain clips. I also toyed around with transitions to see which ones would match the certain scenes most accurately. I am usually pretty specific with the transitions I utilize. I am specific with the transitions I use to ensure that the opening sequence flows nicely and that it makes sense. I would never want to watch a piece of film where the scenes are emotionally charged and out of the blue comes a transition that throws you so off guard, that you laugh. This has

Audio Issues are Solved!

Today, I continued the work I had left from the day previous. I believe it was a good idea for me to leave the editing for another day. During the day in between that I did not edit, I was able to find a few solutions to my troubles. I watched a few tutorial videos on how to utilize sound in iMovie and how to maneuver the iMovie sound settings. I found this to be extremely helpful. I even learned a few new tips. I applied the knowledge I learned and used it while editing. I can say that this made editing feel like smooth sailing. Through the videos I had watched, I realized I had been making various mistakes. Some of these mistakes included me not holding the audio blocks long enough when I wanted to move them. Another mistake was me not knowing how to edit the audio blocks to create the fading effect. This took a few tries, as well as a few tutorials to figure out how to do. However, once I figured it out, I realized how easy iMovie is to maneuver and utilize. The fade feature on the

Audio Issues on iMovie

Today was my first day of editing. After the mess that was filming, I felt like I needed to be extremely carefully in this stage. Once I made sure that I was in fact, completely finished with filming for the opening sequence, I comfortably began to edit. The editing process is one I typically enjoy. I don't find it to be as tedious or time consuming as filming is. I am usually able to finish editing within a day or two, given the time constraints. I have a specific process when it comes editing. This specific process is pretty basic, I have to admit. However, for me at least, it is extremely helpful. The process goes as follows. I first begin to transfer all the clips into a new project on iMovie. I then piece all of the clips together. I piece them in accordance to how they appear on the storyboard. After this, I begin to layer in any music that is needed and begin to add in any transitions and whatnot. While editing, I ran into a few issues, as I usually do. The first issue was t
