My Group for the Music Video

Hello! The task at hand this time is to create a music video for a song of our choice. My group and I decided to do "Glitter" by Tyler the Creator. I will elaborate more on the song later on. I will be working with my partner, Celine again. I chose to work with Celine again for a variety of reasons. She is a hard-working, driven individual who will make sure the work will get done correctly. She is extremely motivated and an amazing collaborator. Additionally, I had also worked with her on the last group assignment, the commercial, so I am already familiar with her work ethic. She is a group member that I could legitimately trust to do their part of the assignment, regardless of whether she is in class that day. 

As I stated beforehand, my group and I decided to do "Glitter" by Tyler the Creator. My group and I chose to do this song because of the lyrics and production of the actual song. The artist who created the song, Tyler the Creator, collaborated with multiple people to create the song lyrics and the background tracks, as well as a few embellishments it contains, like ad-libs. I found this aspect interesting, as to how this is done and how it is layered onto the other layers of the song. I also was intrigued by the lyrics and the tone the song gives. The lyrics signify the feeling of love, like the butterflies in your stomach. The tone would be a light, heartfelt, childish love. The way Tyler the Creator narrates the song makes it seem like he is shy towards this person and is almost sheepishly admitting his feelings for this person. Overall, I believe this song is a great selection for the music video my group and I will be doing. I'm looking forward to doing this project.

Our storyboard goes as the following: First Scene- During this scene, we will be focusing on the Starbucks cup for the commercial. In the beginning, there will be a fade in, which will then show an individual in our group’s back. After that, it turns into a tracking shot to a side shot of her studying. And That's a Wrap!

The filming process took my partner, Celine, and me about a day. The majority of the clips were filmed on December 7th, alongside any retakes. The clips that were shot lined up with the storyboard created to ensure that everything that could be filmed was. However, while filming, there were a few complications that could affect the editing stage of the music video. Additionally, the beach is usually very windy, and I am quite sure some of the sounds of the wind were picked up on the shots, which could pose an issue while editing the clips together. However, it should not be a major issue, since the song will be layered over it. My partner Celine and I are full-time students so there isn't as much spare time as the group would've liked. Fortunately, there was an available time period for the group to go to the beach and film, which was taken full advantage of. Starbucks, start your day off with great taste. | Commercial blog

                                                  This commercial was the first effort within my group. I honestly enjoyed collaborating with my groupmates, it was definitely a learning experience. Some things I learned were that I enjoyed filming and being a camera person rather than acting and being the one filmed. Additionally that I must be realistic when storyboarding. My group and I while storyboarding decided to include a few animations to make the commercial seem more polished and professional. A few issues with this is that no one in the group had any previous experience creating animations, no one knew how to create them.
