A Bit Windy... | Filming Blog
Today we started to film! We actually got all our clips filmed today, so we are ahead of schedule. Both my groupmates, Celine and Sabrina were here today so we were able to film as planned. The props that we brought were an iced tea, a panini, and a cold brew coffee. We also brought an empty coffee cup that we ended up using later on. Due to the wind, we had to retake shots multiple times. A few times our props flew away, or our hair got into our faces and mouths, ruining our shots. However, it was a really fun experience. Fortunately, we didn't have to use our backup plan, since our whole group was present and our location was not being used. I enjoyed filming, especially since I was the main person being filmed. My groupmates, Celine and Sabrina were the ones who were filming and setting up the props. We all collectively were walking each other through each shot, each clip, and what exactly we were going to do. I find this very effective and it helped me to do understand what exactly I needed to do for each shot. We did slightly divert from our original storyboard. We had originally planned to just have the last shot to be of the Starbucks logo with a voiceover. Instead, we used our leftover prop, the cold brew coffee as the background shot for the last prop. We filmed a shot of Ashley, another girl in our class who helped us out, pouring the coffee into a cup as our last shot. We also helped her out with her commercial, since she was working alone. My group was planning to have the Starbucks logo be translucent and the shot of the coffee being poured as the background shot. It'll be an overlap clip, which I think will look really good in our commercial.
